Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect on my first visit to your practice?

A calming, clean, and modern environment will greet you. Our friendly team will begin to collect the information required for your first visit. Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment to allow adequate time to complete your check-in process.

Your initial visit will take about an hour and fifteen minutes, which will consist of a comprehensive oral examination, necessary x-rays, and cleaning. Dr. Kham will review and discuss the finding with you and address any concerns you have. If additional treatment is recommended, we will prioritize your treatment plan and discuss the treatment options. If no further treatment is recommended, we will see you at your next check-up.

What can I expect on a dental emergency visit?

Dr. Kham will perform the limited oral evaluation to address your emergency need, and necessary x-ray will be taken. Palliative or temporary symptomatic treatment will be provided. You may be rescheduled for definitive and comprehensive treatment.

Can you tell me over the phone how much it will cost to fix my teeth?

Digital X-RaysA thorough evaluation is needed before we can provide you with an estimated treatment cost. This is true even if you have just seen another provider for evaluation. As a healthcare provider, we are required to make examination and diagnosis before we begin treatment and provide you with an estimated treatment cost.

Why do I need x-rays again?

We follow the American Dental Association Guideline, “As Low As Reasonably Achieved” for taking radiographs. When there is a diagnostic need, we take x-rays so that we can see what our naked eyes cannot see. We invest in the best digital technology so that you will only be exposed to a minimal and negligible amount of x-ray.

I am moving out of DC. How can I get my records?

We are happy to give you a copy of your dental records so that you can continue your dental care without interruption. We do not charge any record processing fees. This is a complimentary service for our patients.
